Early varieties of Eri Boro paddy have already started to be harvested at Ghoraghat in Dinajpur and the farmers are happy with the good price.
In Ghoraghat Upazila, paddy cultivation has increased, due to good weather, the farmers of the region are coming to get unexpected yield and higher profit of Eri-Boro paddy.
Different types of Eri-Boro paddy are cultivated in Ghoraghat upazila. Among them, high quality paddy has been planted in about nine and a half thousand hectares of land this time. Due to favorable weather conditions, the farmers of the region are coming to get 30 to 35 mannas of Eri Boro paddy per bigha this time.
Eri Boro paddy has been planted in about 9,900 hectares of land in 4 unions including Ghoraghat municipal area. They think that the farmers will see a profit as the yield is good and the price of paddy is also quite good. This time the price of paddy is nine hundred to nine hundred rupees more than last year so the farmers are happy. Farmers in the region have resorted to cultivating Erie Boro paddy due to good prices.
