Work on the Akhaura-Agartala Railway is coming to an end next year.
The Akhaura-Agartala rail link line will be completed by June next year. Rail connectivity between the two countries will also be launched in the same year.
Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka, Righangli Das, said this while visiting the Akhaura-Agartala rail link line at Brahmanbaria’s Akhaura on Thursday morning.
Responding to a question from reporters, he added that the Akhaura-Agartala rail line project is an important project of the two countries. Bangladesh’s commercial communication with northeast India will be through this railway.
Regarding the matter, Righavangali Das said that in connection with the killing of BSF on the border, there is good relations between the border guards of the two countries.
They are talking about themselves all the time. I hope these things end up in discussion.
The Akhaura-Agartala rail link was also in attendance while Anita Barik, first secretary of the Indian High Commission (Railway Advisor), Amrish Kumar, protocol commissioner of the High Commissioner, Tahmina Akhter Reina, chief executive officer of Akhaura Upazila, Anzhul Ahsar, and Anchor Onazar of Ankhara police station of Akhaura police station.
It is to be noted that the Akhaura-Agartala Rail Link Line project has been estimated to cost Tk 200 crore. The project will be completed in June next year.
